facilitated self-reflexivity as an essential approach to examine their frame of thinking and create space for new possibilities;
ANTI-RACISM TRAINING FOR EDUCATORS
WORKSHOP
Our introductory workshop explores the importance of anti-racism in creating inclusive and culturally sustaining learning environments. We'll explore:
-
the different forms of racism and the role of power dynamics;
-
the impact of racism on our students and colleagues
-
strategies for identifying and addressing racism;
-
the role of self-reflection in the process of becoming more anti-racist;
This is an opportunity to uproot our inherited conditioning to identify its limitations, and impact, on our relationships - and reveal what's possible beyond our existing dynamics.
This workshop is designed for all staff within our educational system - ministries, districts, schools and teacher education programs. We know systems level change requires each of us to work together, learn from one another, and grow as learners.
THE
LIVED EXPERIENCE
WORKSHOP
This workshop is designed for educators from racialized communities. Drawing on her lived experience and research, Jas introduces the concept of Interstitiality and how it offers a roadmap to understand our own experience and reimagine possibilities through the 'living root bridge' lens of strength, humility and hope;.
UNDERSTANDING (INTER)CULTURAL DIFFERENCE WORKSHOP
This workshop explores our understanding of (Inter)cultural Difference and how historic power dynamics lay the foundation for many of our interactions and relationships today. We explore how to recognize (dis)comfort, shift power and reframe our encounters with each other - taking steps to advancing equity in our classrooms and systems.
